Drop pendant is a collapsible suspended lamp that takes the form of two identical and opposing open shells. The construction is an abstraction of an oloid, a geometric form discovered in 1924 by scientist Paul Schatz.
Light is diffused and reflected over a tensioned paper structure that is fixed to a minimal framework. The same framework acts as the mounting point for a pair of light sources that illuminate each shell separately.
The pendant provides a sculptural focal point that transforms as you move about the structure to create a varied and surprising array of compositions.
